The techtron® NEXUS EVP3+ is designed as a portable home EV charging solution, giving users a practical way to charge from a compatible mains supply without relying solely on a permanently installed wall charger. Its portable format, choice of cable length and dedicated UK or EU versions make it suitable for a range of everyday charging situations.

Advanced Safety & Protection System
The techtron® NEXUS EVP3+ range incorporates a multi-layer protection system designed to monitor key electrical and operating conditions throughout each charging session. Standard NEXUS models include comprehensive protection across voltage, current, leakage, temperature and charging communication, while selected THERMO-GUARD™ variants add further plug-temperature and DC fault monitoring.*
- Over-Voltage Protection: Monitors for excessive voltage conditions and includes self-checking recovery when normal operating conditions return.
- Under-Voltage Protection: Detects low-voltage conditions and includes self-checking recovery once the incoming supply stabilises.
- Over-Current Protection: Monitors charging current and provides protection if supported operating limits are exceeded.
- Short Circuit Protection: Provides dedicated protection against abnormal short-circuit conditions during charging.
- Type A 30mA AC Leakage Protection: Included across the NEXUS range to monitor relevant AC residual current conditions during charging.
- Leakage Protection: Includes automatic restart recovery following supported leakage fault conditions.
- Lightning Protection: Provides an additional layer of protection against supported electrical surge conditions.
- Overheat Protection: Monitors excessive operating temperature to support stable charging and protect against abnormal thermal conditions.
- CP Malfunction Protection: Monitors the Control Pilot (CP) charging communication system and provides protection if an abnormal CP condition is detected.
- IP65 Protection: The charging unit is protected against dust ingress and water jets, supporting use across suitable indoor and outdoor charging environments.
- THERMO-GUARD™ NTC Monitoring*: Selected THERMO-GUARD™ models incorporate an NTC thermal sensor within the mains plug that continuously monitors plug temperature during charging.
- Automatic Thermal Interruption*: If the NTC system detects an abnormal temperature rise, charging is automatically interrupted to help support user safety, stable charging performance and long-term product reliability.
- Integrated 6mA DC Leakage Protection*: Selected THERMO-GUARD™ variants continuously monitor residual DC fault current during EV charging.
- Automatic DC Fault Detection*: Charging is automatically interrupted if abnormal DC leakage is detected, providing an additional layer of electrical protection.
- Standard vs THERMO-GUARD™: All NEXUS models retain the core protection suite, while THERMO-GUARD™ versions add the dedicated NTC temperature monitoring and RDC + 6mA DC leakage protection systems.
*NTC temperature monitoring and integrated 6mA DC leakage protection are available only on selected NEXUS EVP3+ THERMO-GUARD™ variants and are not included on standard NEXUS EVP3+ models.
